Top 5 Best Singapore Night Clubs

The best clubs in Singapore are hard to keep track of because of the fast paced nature of the city and its ever evolving tastes. Whilst the clubbing scene in the city has grown exponentially over the last decade, nightclubs seem to open and close periodically, with even the longest running and best loved of them all, Zouk, under threat of closure.

This list of the 5 best clubs in Singapore (that are still open) will keep your faith in Singapore’s vibrant, yet ever changing clubbing scene. We hit the party hotspots of Singapore regularly so with this dynamic guide you can be assured that you won’t look foolish looking for Home Club (it’s reopened as CANVAS Singapore), or the already closed Avalon on the Marina Bay.

Top 5

Trace Club
Clarke Quay

Trace Lounge is one of the latest clubs to set up at Clarke Quay, the epicenter of Singapore’s after-dark action. Located on Magazine Road next to Central Mall and just a few minutes’ walk up the river from Clarke Quay MRT, Trace goes heavy on the EDM and hip hop, with some top notch lighting effects (we love the lasers) and sound system to match. Following the trend of many big clubs in Singapore, Trace is only open for three nights of the week: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Expect hip hop for their lady's night on Wednesday, while the weekend is all about the hands-in-the air EDM which continues until 04:00.

Top 4
Attica
Clarke Quay

If mainstream dance music is your thing and you love the nighlife hib of Clarke Quay, then Attica is up there with some of the best clubs in Singapore. It gets pretty busy every night, delivering a feel-good the party atmosphere seven days a week. Whilst some might bemoan that Attica is a little tacky and a place to come to be ‘seen’, the recently revamped interior certainly has freshened up the place, and they do occasionally play host to some international names like Paul Oakenfold. It’s huge too, and you can easily switch to the more underground-feeling hip-hop, house and electronic zones if you get bored of the party pop soundtrack in the main room. $S30 to get in + 2 free drinks (free for ladies on Weds)

Top 3
Club Kyo
CBD

Kyo is a popular underground club, both in terms of its music policy, as well as its location (it’s housed in a former bank vault in the basement of Keck Seng Tower). Sitting right in the heart of the business district and boasting a Japanese-esque, minimalistic theme, kyo is one of the best clubs in Singapore for house, tech and minimal music fans. Compared to other dance music clubs in Singapore, kyo is a lot more generous in its seating options, with enough room for 150 to sit and just over 200 to stand/dance. If you want a table on the weekend, bookings are definitely recommended. It’s $S20/25 entry fee for men/woman after 22:00 (includes one drink).

Top 2
CANVAS Nightclub (Ex Home Club)
Clarke Quay

Taking the reins of the much-loved Home Club which occupied the same waterside spot at Clarke Quay for years, Canvas nightclub certainly has some large shoes to fill. Home Club was considered by many to be the best club in Singapore for years, specialising in tech, drum and bass, minimal and garage. Opened in 2014, the Canvas Nightclub now also operates as an art gallery in the day and has managed to retain that underground feeling at night, welcoming quality local and international names to win (back) the loyal following. Just a newcomer but Canvas definitely has the potential to become one of the best clubs in Singapore.

Top 1
Zouk Club
Singapore Riverside

From fresh faced 18-year-olds who’ve just got their first ID, to long time clubbing veterans, few would disagree that Zouk is the best club in Singapore. Not only is it the best, but it’s also the longest running, having opened its doors over two decades ago. Located on the Singapore River a short walk up from Clarke Quay, Zouk has earned legendary status amongst dance music lovers with its numerous rooms and zones, a strict underground music policy and a non-pretentious atmosphere compared to that of other nightclubs in Singapore. Entry is around $S20 with a free drink (free for ladies on Wednesday).
